Ferrari 488 Drag Races McLaren 570S with Disappointing Results

For one thing, you have to get the Pista edition of the Ferrari 488 to play on the same level as the McLaren 720S, at least when it comes to straight-line performance (here's a drag race between the two mid-engined delights, for instance).

Then again, we're not here to talk about the 720S and the Pista. Instead, we want to discuss a pair of rivals that sit below the two, namely the Ferrari 488 GTB (we can't call this "standard") and the McLaren 570S.

Fortunately, the mid-engined beasts got together at the drag strip, so the aficionados behind the wheel could at least benefit from the prepped surface - the dual-clutch setups of these machines means they can't pull pre-race burnouts to bring the tires up to temperature before the race.

And while the Macca might be down on the power compared to the Fezza (think: 570 vs 670 hp), you should know both are capable of delivering 10s quarter-mile runs.

Then again, it seems that neither of the two managed to deliver its full potential during the battle that brought us here, as you'll get to notice in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which also includes the 1,320 feet numbers of the two.
