Ferrari 458 Spider Gets Transparent Engine Cover

No, not from Ferrari themselves. Fooled you, didn’t we? Ferrari is probably going to address this issue, or any other for that matter. Whatever they make is perfect in every aspect, just like any other car built with Italian pride.

But German tuner Capristo saw the 458 Spider and decided it really did need a different engine cover. And so, they made one that fits in the factory location and comes with a glass window that allows partial vision of that 4.5-liter Ferrari V8 engine.

As far as we can tell, it’s pretty much the same, with the only difference being that their version has an extra pair of air vents.

The cost of one of these engine covers is €9,800, which is peanuts compared to what the car actually costs. Ferrari should really consider making their own version and offering it as an optional extra. And remember Ferrari engineers: don’t use glue that burns again!
