Are you a Ferrari fan?! Have you always loved that bloody red that has the tendency to vanish in the blink of an eye when it is driven?! If your answer is "yes", then you will be pleased to know that the Ferrari 458 Speciale has debuted in Australia.
This particular car is an enhanced version of the traditional Ferrari 458 Italia and it continues the tradition of hardcore V8s that began with the 360 Challenge Stradale, continued afterwards by the 430 Scudaria.

If you were wondering about the price, let us tell you it’s not that cheap. It goes up to AUD550,000. Despite costing so much, there's no shortage of customers, as the first year’s allocation has already sold out. Acording to local Ferrari boss Herbert Appleroth, only 50-60 Speciales will be produced for Australia and New Zealand, so we can assume that they will sell fast.

The 458 Speciale’s engine is the company’s most powerful naturally aspirated V8 at 605 PS. The guys from Ferrari claim that it can achieve the highest specific power output of any road-going naturally aspirated engine.

Besides this, Ferrari claims that the exotic Speciale accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.0 seconds. This means it is almost half a second quicker than the Italia. Oh wait, this is not all. They have also claimed that the 458 Speciale managed to do the famous Fiorano test track in 1 minute 23.5 seconds, which is 1.5 seconds quicker than the Enzo.

Therefore, we can say for a fact that it is an outstanding car, the key to its heightened performance standing in its advanced active aerodynamics. This is interesting as it is a first for a Ferrari production model and technology that is supposed to become standard in the future line-up.

Continuing with the tech side, the car incorporates two electrically operated flaps at the front and three at the rear. By opening and closing automatically based on the car’s speed, they help reduce drag on straights as well as help with cornering.

When it comes to the design, the Ferrari 458 Speciale is quite the eye candy. It features some unique design elements developed by the Ferrari Styling Centre and Pininfarina. Also, the two exhausts outlets, the front bumper, bonnet, side skirts and rear end are all exclusive to the new model.

Some other changes can be noticed in contrast to the 458 Italia version. You will see that the new model has lighter forged alloy wheels and also substitutes the interior leather and plastics with alcantara and carbon fiber. The list of changes doesn’t end here, the glovebox, carpets , infotainment system plus other auxiliary items from the cabin have also been removed.
