Ferrari 458 Monaco Tunnel Crash Defies Logic

Ferrari crashes are about as common as tanned, rich, old people in Monaco, but this one is different. Somehow, this guy managed to get the 458 in between the outer wall of a tunnel and the concrete crash barrier that's supposed to keep cars out, not in.

We suspect some showboating and hard acceleration were involved in the making of this logic-defying scene. The tunnel under the Fairmont Hotel in Monaco, where this shot was taken, is famous for its acoustics and has been the scene for many supercar hooning videos. Could this have been one such attempt too many?

We don’t know who’s to blame, but if we were to be totally unobjective, we’d say the 458 was being driven too hard, maybe with the Manettino set where it shouldn't be in an area where the speed limit it 40 km/h. The Monaco police is notorious for not liking speed freaks, but this F1 race driving wannabe managed to elude their eye.

No other cars were damaged in the crash and the only property is to the Ferrari and some sort of fire fighting equipment. It's just as well that it crashed into a hydrant, seeing as 458 have been known to burst into flames on a few occasions.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
