Whenever a new supercar is launched, the company that makes it brags about the plethora of electronic systems that assist the driver. However, not all of these are shown to us in their actual form.
We’d love to be able to see how such systems behave in the real world before getting to actually drive the car and we shall zoom in on an example right now: the Launch Control feature on the Ferrari 458 Italia.
The adjacent clip shows a black example of the 458 that stops on the middle of a two-lane road, with the driver activating the system and taking off in a violent rush. At first, there is a little delay as the rear tires search for grip on what seems to be a road surface with a little bit of dust, but this is quickly dealt with and then the car really disappears.
