Whether the guy that called the police after spotting a grey Ferrari 458 speeding on the M40 near Bicester, Oxfordshire, UK was jealous or not, he was right. Yet, speeding was not the only reason the man ended up getting his over $200k seized by police.
Let’s get one thing straight before moving forward onto finding out what happened. The Italian sportscar is one of the most popular exotics in the world, yet we still believe not all of those who wish to own one should be allowed to. We get it, that Ferrari/Maserati F136 V8 engine producing a staggering 562 horsepower is quite tempting. We are talking about a speed machine that will take you to the 62 mph (100 km/h) mark in 3 seconds.

However, if you’re thinking about pushing the pedal to the metal at least make sure you’re driving somewhere where you're allowed to do so. Reports are the traffic officers discovered the driver - who was using a German number plate - did not have a license. He was then reported to Thames Valley police and taken to the nearest station.

The driver had no license so the car was seized and he was reported for driving otherwise than in accordance with a license. We used a recovery vehicle and he was dropped off at the nearest point of safety,” an officer later said, according to Daily Mail.

Since the speed-addict had a German license plate maybe he miss interpreted the British traffic rules, especially that some highways in his home country come with no speed limit. This still doesn’t explain the Ferrari owner's lack of a driver’s license, though. Maybe he was the average car thief.
