It's no secret that the Ferrari 458 is no longer under the spotlights. You see, the 458 Speciale still gets some attention despite the arrival of the 488 Pista, since we're talking about a naturally aspirated special that has become a collector car. However, that conclusion doesn't stand when it comes to the 458 Italia.
In an attempt to keep the said Maranello machine fresh, many owners have turned to the aftermarket. Then again, the atmospheric 4.5-liter V8 that occupies the middle section of the Prancing Horse can't be taken all that far in terms of extra power.

Of course, there are also 458 drivers who can't be bothered and take their machines to velocity events in spite of the fact that these are no longer the sharpest tools in the shed.

And you'll be able to notice a recent example of this in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page.

This takes us to a rolling drag race event held on the Old Continent. The shenanigans saw contenders kicking off the hostilities at 50 km/h and going for a one-kilometer run.

The Fezza mentioned above lined up next to a Mercedes-AMG C63 S and, to make matters even more interesting, the Affalterbach toy came in Wagon form.

Stop reading at this point if you're willing to steer clear of number-delivered spoilers.

The sprinting event that saw the 458 and the C63 S Wagon duking it out also involved other machines, such as a Mercedes-AMG GLC43 and a third-generation Ford Focus RS.

As always, the winner of a race was determined not by checking out which machine got the finish line first, but by measuring the maximum velocity of the contenders.

And here are the values for each of the machines listed above (note that we dropped these numbers here since they can't be found in the video).

  • Ferrari 458 Italia: 259.92 km/h
  • Mercedes-AMG C63s Estate: 248.30 km/h
  • Mercedes-AMG GLC43: 226.69 km/h
  • Ford Focus RS MK3: 215.53 km/h
