Felipe Massa to Test Ferrari F2008 in Friday, in Barcelona

While his teammate Fernando Alonso has returned to Maranello and is using the spare time to gather information on Ferrari's 2010 challenger – while also doing his scheduled seat-fitting sessions in the process – Felipe Massa doesn't plan to just sit around and do nothing until the testing season kicks off in early February.

Consequently, the Brazilian driver joined the Scuderia's Corse Clienti department at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona, for the 3-day testing session of 7-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi. The MotoGP rider started testing the Ferrari F2008 – the last of the Ferrari cars that won a constructors' title for the Italian team, back in 2008 – yesterday, but it appears the last day of action, namely Friday, will be used by Massa.

Following some previous testing sessions at Fiorano and Mugello during the course of last year, after his recovery from the Hungarian GP accident, Massa will again use this opportunity to get comfortable at the wheel of a Formula One car before the official start of the winter testing.

As the car and the track were available I thought it would be helpful to go onto the track for a day to continue gaining confidence with the Formula 1. After the days in Fiorano and Mugello this will be a nice opportunity to get back driving on such an interesting and challenging track,” said Massa, according to the Ferrari official site.

Earlier today, Fernando Alonso was also seen testing a Ferrari F60 with the team's new Santander branding for filming purposes, via some pictures provided by the Spanish banking group. The event took place at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, while the exact date of the session has not been disclosed by the aforementioned company.
