Delivery expert company FedEx and Japanese automaker Nissan have recently announced they will start a trial to evaluate the e-NV200 Compact Van in Singapore.
FedEx is looking forward to change their fleet to electrical cars, in order to reduce costs and be more eco-friendly. The trial is set to begin in Singapore and after its completion, it could expand to Brazil and US.
Nissan’s e-NV200 is based on the regular NV200 compact van, but as its name suggests, it has an all-electric drivetrain, borrowed from the Nissan Leaf model. The electric motor will provide 80 kW and 280 Nm of torque, giving the van diesel-like performance. Also, its battery pack can be charged up to 80% in just 30 minutes. Nissan plans to get the e-NV200 into full production around the second quarter of 2013.
