More trouble in paradise for Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles, as Dodge will operate a recall involving 300,000 vehicles with faulty airbag sensors.

As hilarious as this may sound, the problem affects Dodge Chargers and occurs when the car's doors are kicked or slammed with excessive force.

In other words, you should take the gentle approach when closing the doors on your Dodge Charger because the side-curtain airbags might deploy if you do otherwise.

Moreover, the company has identified three potentially related injuries, all described as minor, but no accidents or serious injuries.

This latest campaign is limited to certain 2011-2014 model year Dodge Chargers. Their modules have a unique calibration, which is influenced by door design. To be more precise, 284,153 US-market sedans could be affected by this issue, plus another 13,169 in Canada, 2,484 in Mexico and 22,272 outside the NAFTA region.

As usual, affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service, which will be performed free of charge. In the meantime, FCA US advises owners of these vehicles to "exercise caution when closing doors".

This is a "one eye cries, the other one laughs" situation but so many recalls will eventually end up building a massive lack of trust from customers, which we all know is not good for business.

Also due to faulty airbags, FCA announced it will call in two million trucks and guess what? For some of those, the cause was the same as detailed above, since injury-inflicting incidents occurred when vehicle doors were slammed with excessive force.
