FC Bayern Wins Audi Cup Soccer Tournament

Finally, the Audi Cup soccer tournament ended yesterday, with FC Bayern Munchen winning the final against Manchester United, with a score of 7 - 6. It was a penalty shootout of course, and goal-keeper Michael Rensing was the one that brought the victory for the German team.

Moreover, the goal keeper was selected the most valuable player in the match. “A great feeling playing to zero first and then saving two penalty kicks,” said Rensing.

As for the 3rd place playoff, the Italians scored first, but the guests from Argentina achieved the equalizer with only three minutes before the regular playing time was over. Boca Juniors also won in the penalty shootout the match played against AC Milan.

The most valuable player of the 3rd place playoff in the opinion of the judging panel was the Italian Gennaro Gattuso. The Judge panel, included, among others, Volkswagen Group CEO Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Audi CEO Rupert Stadler and DFB Sports Director Matthias Sammer.
