Faurecia Boosts Seat Production for Nissan

The increasing appeal of the Nissan models has determined a growth in the demand for parts coming from perhaps the most interesting to watch Japanese manufacturer. The most recent development in the part supplier industry is the announcement made by Faurecia, which said that it will add a new plant to the production queue to meet Nissan's car seat requirements.

Faurecia said it will add the Madison plant in Missouri to handle the orders. The 180,000-square-foot facility will be in charge with producing seat systems for several Nissan vehicles, including Altima, Armada SUV, Titan pickup truck and new NV commercial van.

Hoping to ensure the support of the local residents in the light of its future plans, Faurecia also announced the start of a social campaign meant to support the food banks in the region by donating and collecting food.

"The expansion into Madison and throughout the Southeast has been critical to serving our customers' needs as well as to growing our business and securing future opportunities," said Rich Kolpasky, president of Faurecia Automotive Seating North America. "Faurecia is eager to expand its business with Nissan."

Faurecia is one of the preferred suppliers of the American automotive industry. It does its business with the giants of the industry, including Volkswagen and Ford. The most recent contract the supplier snatched is the one that requires it to supply parts for Volkswagen's Passat model, one that is to be manufactured at the car maker's new plant in Chattanooga, opened this week.
