Fastest Stock Engine Hellcat Drops Amazing 9.1s 1/4-Mile Run

Despite the Dodge Challenger Hellcat having been with us since 2015, there are still plenty of owners who drag race their toys without making full use of the Mopar beast's potential. Well, the example we're here to feature isn't one of them.

In fact, we are now looking at the world's quickest (elapsed time) and fastest (trap speed) stock engine, stock supercharger Hellcat.

Those accolades came after the machine managed to deliver a stunning quarter-mile pass, one that can be admired in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page.

To be more precise, the Challenger Hellcat managed to complete the 1,320 feet task in 9.175 seconds, with a trap speed of 150.58 mph.

And while we've already mentioned that the neither the engine, nor the blower have been opened, the same is said about the eight-speed automatic tranny of the muscle hero.

So, what has been done to this Dodge? Well, the list of updates includes a pulley upgrade as well as a tune coming from Mopar aftermarket realm-famous Tim Barth.

More importantly, this contraption can easily put its power down. And that's because the rear axle has now been gifted with smaller beadlock wheels wrapped in drag-specific rubber. And you'll be able to see the thing doing a wheelstand as it gets off the line, with the skinny front tires getting some serious air time.

Then again, we also expect some driveline upgrades, with this probably including the driveshaft and the half-axles. After all, the extra muscle and the uber-grip of the drag strip do take a toll on this side of the car.

As usual with such builds, the sprinting tale doesn't end here. And that's because those behind the build now want to take the thing into 8s territory, planning to turn to a nitrous setup to achieve their goal. So Demon owners have twice the reasons to fear this Hellcat.
