Fast Crash for KTM 1290 Super Duke R

If anything, the 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R is probably the most savage naked motorcycle in the world, surpassing the likes of Aprilia Tuono or Honda CB1000R by a hefty margin. Needless to say it is not at all wise to have an inexperienced rider behind the bars, in any conditions, but sometimes such recommendations are easily forgotten

The Super Duke R has rightfully claimed the Beast moniker, and it looks like not even engaging the traction control assistance to the max can't turn it into a tame steed. Reports say that, when pushed hard, the bike can wheelie in any gear, and this says pretty much aboyut how evil it is.

The footage below is reportedly recorded at the Johor circuit in Malaysia, a track with a very neat and demanding layout, including three hairpin turns, a couple of 90-degree bends,a fast right-hander and an even faster back straight. Basically, it allows a bike such as the KTM 1290 Super Duke R to show pretty much anything it is capable of... in case the rider is up to the task.

Honestly, it hurts to see the KTM 1290 Super Duke R getting mauled this way. The bike deserves a far better treatment than crashing it even before leaving the pit lane, but this is just one of the lessons it will teach riders once in a while.

If you are somehow afraid (and you sort of should be) to book a test ride with the Beast, here's a nifty video of former motorcycle racer Jeremy McWilliams putting the 1290 Super Duke R through its paces. The footage should provide you with a bigger and better picture of the Super Duke R, showing both its sweet and its vile sides.
