There’s a huge party brewing in Miami, Florida, where at the end of the month the first trailer for the Fast and Furious latest film, the ninth in the series, will be released by Universal Pictures.
The studio announced this week the pretext for the party is the launch of the movie’s first trailer, which will take place on January 31. We have no idea what director Justin Lin has in store for us this time, but it should be big, considering all the trouble Universal is going to.

Aptly titled The Road to F9, the party is dedicated to the fans and will see tons of celebrities attending to endorse what will hopefully not be the pulp fiction the last few films have been. The franchise’s main stars (Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel and newcomer John Cena) will of course be on site.

So will Cardi B, Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth, Ozuna, and Ludacris, who will be ensuring the soundtrack for the event, guided by the master of ceremonies Tyrese Gibson.

The event is sponsored in part by Dodge, who says it will bring to the event a Challenger SRT Demon driving simulator.

“The heart of the Fast & Furious franchise has always been, and will always be, family, and it brings me so much joy that our extended family will be with us to help celebrate the launch of this chapter,” said in a statement Vin Diesel.

“We are nothing without our ride-or-die fans, and we are thrilled that they will be in Miami to welcome old- and new-school cast and crew, as well as usher in a brand-new era of Fast & Furious.”

As for the movie’s plot, because the story is still tightly under wraps we have no idea which way it is going to go. The last couple of films have been increasingly exaggerated, so here’s to not having FF9 take place in outer space.
