Among them is Faraday Future, an American company that wants to build the best electric vehicles in the world. It has begun recruiting key employees from various parts of the industry, and some of them are from its direct competitors, like Tesla Motors.

In this story, we are talking about James Chen, Tesla Motors’ former vice president of regulatory affairs and deputy general counsel. At the time of his departure from Tesla Motors, the reason he left was undisclosed, while his next employer was unknown.

Meanwhile, Faraday Future tweeted a picture of James Chen on its official account, where it also announced his new position.

The tweet is embedded below, and it links to a section of the company's revamped website where they talk about the Faraday Future team, which is now composed of over 700 employees.

James Chen is now the Vice President of Government Relations and General Counsel for Faraday Future. His role will be to focus on sustainable production of electric vehicles, as well as strengthening strategic partnerships, developing a comprehensive policy, and dealing with matters of legal compliance.

James Chen has a broad experience in the legal field, as he used to be partner in two of Washington DC’s most reputable law firms. He was specialized in advising clients on global regulatory issues focused on truck and automobile manufacturers and suppliers.

In other words, Mr. Chen is an attorney focused on a particular type of matter in the automotive industry. However, he is also exquisite with environmental issues, as he was listed as one of the best environmental solicitors in the country in 2010 and 2011 by Best Lawyers in America. In Mr. Chen’s resume, we can see that he began his 25-year career as an advisor for the US Environmental Protection Agency.
