A couple of years ago, Jay Leno asked the question “Why isn’t natural gas sexier?” while looking at a CNG-powered Honda Civic. New Orleans designer J.T. Nesbitt took up the challenge as he was reeling from the hurricane that hit the region.
Inspired by the 1930s grand prix race cars, he created something truly amazing. Here’s an example of American independence and ingenuity. You start out thinking that this is just a collection of parts under a pretty body.
But Nesbitt knows everything about the engine, the transmission, he’s also an accomplished craftsman and he cast beautiful parts for the car.
The idea that you can have a home filling station for CNG that runs on the same stuff you use for the barbeque is amazing.
This has to be one of our favorite cars we’ve seen on the show so far!
