Let's get things straight from the get-go: the "fake" part of the title above doesn't refer to the fact that we're not dealing with a factory Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6, which comes in pickup truck form, but rather with a wagon. Instead, the problem with this build is that the added third axle doesn't get any power.
As such, the contraption sitting before us is actually an elongated Gelandewagen in 6x4 form. And since the newfound dimensions and extra weight don't exactly improve the G-Class' rugged terrain abilities, you can expect the machine to be pretty lousy when it comes to offroading.

Of course, the road-biased wheel and tire package also deserves plenty of "credit" for the said problem.

"But the thing is certainly a pain to handle on the road, especially in traffic, so why would anybody mess up a G Wagon like this?" I hear you asking.

Well, the answer is as simple as it is unfortunate: for the sake of grabbing attention. Whether we're talking about what goes on in California, where this project can be found or chatting about social media trends, one simply can't turn too many heads with a mere G63.

However, this six-wheeler is guaranteed to play the role of an attention magnet - after all, it wouldn't have landed in front of us otherwise.

Now, if the screenshots above aren't enough, you can head over to the 5:00 point of the clip below to see YouTuber foolling around with this wannabe.

Keep in mind that playing with SUVs is now a trend. And one of the best examples of the sort comes from a Lamborghini Urus we discussed earlier this year, which was brought considerably closer to the road by a shop called RDBLA.

PS: No, of course is doesn't feature the Unimog-borrowed portal axles of the actual Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6.
