Fake Ferrari Enzo Is Built On The Usual Platform, Still Mid-Engined

The Monterey Car Week isn't just about ridiculously expensive metal getting a bit of a tan under the Californian sun, even though an important part of the Internet is understandably hooked up on the Bugatti Centodieci (here's a special spec that defies the presentation model's all-white take, by the way). And to prove this point, I've brough along a Ferrari Enzo. No, wait, this is a fake Ferrari Enzo.

Certain supercar and hypercar replicas might just trick an untrained eye into believing they are the real deal. However, the contraption sitting before us is not one of them.

This Faux Horse would be nice, but it's being held back by aspects such as the proportions, the modest wheels, the little details and... well... just about everything else.

Then again, this story has a twist that's completely different to the one involving an owner who wants to trick people into believing he drives a 'Rarri.

So I won't just cut the contraption we have here some slack. I'll even allow it to put a massive smile on my face, as it has apparently done with many, many aficioandos who are checking it out this weekend at the Concours d’Lemons.

You know, the display associated with the 24 Hours Of Le Mons, the endurance race you can actually afford. And I'll use this opportunity to once again mention that the said series involves cheap builds with a flair, not just affordable machines, as, for instance, this C3 Chevrolet Corvette (with the heart of an E36 BMW M3) demonstrates.

Of course, the not-really-an-Enzo wasn't the only wacky machine at the 2019 Concours d’Lemons, which is why I'm inviting you to check out some of its companions below.

PS: Yes, that Ferrari Enzo is based on the good old Pontiac Fiero.
