£5,995. That’s all the pounds sterling you need if you want to roll out a Dacia dealer with a brand new Sandero to your name.
Revealed in September at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the mid-cycle update for the Romanian manufacturer’s model lineup is available to order as of now. The jacked-up Sandero Stepway will set you back £8,795, while the Logan MCV (£6,995 OTR) retains its title of most affordable estate car in the UK.
In the Duster’s case, the crossover gained an automatic transmission borrowed from parent company Renault. The 6-speed EDC box joins the 4x2 variants of the 1.5 dCi turbo diesel engine on Laureate and Prestige grades. At £14,995, the Duster EDC is the most affordable crossover available in the UK. It’s also economical, the pairing being good for 62.8 mpg (combined).
Inspired by the Duster, the Sandero and Logan now feature double optic headlights. LED daytime running lights are standard across the range, as is air conditioning on the Ambiance trim level and beyond. The Sandero and Logan MCV are no longer available with the 1.2L 16V naturally aspirated engine, but a 1.0L three-cylinder called SCe 75. The numerals stand for 75 PS or 74 brake horsepower. The SCe 75 is said to be up to 10 percent more efficient.
For more convenience, the cabin of the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, and Logan MCV now features a redesigned steering wheel with the horn push located in the center, not on the indicator stalk. A small but effective change brought by the facelift is represented by Dacia’s decision to move the front window switches from the center console to the door armrests. A 12-volt socket in the rear is yet another highlight that’s worth mentioning.
The three facelifted models are completed by fresh designs for the wheels and two exterior colors: Mink and Chestnut. The latter paint finish was previously exclusive to the Ambiance Prime trim level.
