Facelifted 2010 Kia Optima Revealed

Kia recently debuted model year 2010 Optima in South Korea, a slightly facelifted model that comes with a bunch of minor improvements over the current model. The news might surprise some of you, especially because the South Korean manufacturer rolled out the first facelift of the current generation Optima, also known as Lotze in the domestic market and Magentis in Europe, approximately one year ago.

As mentioned, the refreshed model features only minor upgrades, only a few of them being noticeable from the exterior. For example, it boasts a new mesh grille, new LED tailights, 17-inch alloy wheels and dark headlamps. Inside, the car now features new trim and color options, Carscoop wrote.

The engine choices are basically the same as on the successor, with the four-cylinder lineup comprising a 2.0-liter 163 hp, a 2.4-liter 179 hp and a 2.7-liter V6 unit remaining practically unchanged.

The model year 2010 Optima is already available for order in the domestic market but the South Korean manufacturer hasn't yet mentioned whether it intends to bring the aforementioned modifications on the North American and European versions as well.

The mid-life facelift was officially unleashed at the New York International Auto Show and was comprised of several changes over the previous model, such as taillamps, front-end styling and interior upgrades such as a redesigned instrument cluster and new features. The facelifted model is 2.8-inch longer compared to the model it replaced. Other features include LED outside-mirror turning signals and fog lights, USB connectivity, new color schemes and an optional navigation system.
