Fabio Capello Drives the Vauxhall Insignia

Fabio Capello is one of the most appreciated football managers today, currently performing that task for the England national football team. Recently, as part of Vauxhall’s partnership with the Football Association, Capello has been presented with the keys of a Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer Elite.

The Elite trim level - the highest before the VXR version - is priced from GBP26,745 and comes with dual-zone electronic climate control with heat-reflective windscreen and humidity sensor, 18-inch alloy wheels, front and rear parking distance sensor, front fog lights, intelligent AFL with high-pressure headlight washers, leather trim with heated front seats, eight-way electrically adjustable  driver’s seat with memory, electrically foldable door mirrors  (electro-chromatic on driver’s side), among other features.

“I am delighted to be driving a Vauxhall.  I have always held the organisation in the highest regard for many, many years throughout my footballing career,” Capello said. “Vauxhall has been extremely supportive not only of the Football Association but of me personally and I am very grateful for their support.

“I have very fond memories of driving an Opel many years ago and, during my coaching career at AC Milan, Opel were a lucky company for me when they were sponsor of the club,” the 65-year-old football coach added.

“Shortly after announcing our partnership with the FA in January, we were approached by Fabio about the possibility of driving a Vauxhall,” explained Vauxhall managing director Duncan Aldred. “He has been using a Vauxhall for the past five months and now he has the Vauxhall of his choice.”

As expected, this partnership did not went without any benefits for the British car brand, as Aldred claims that the first seven months of sponsorship have been extremely successful.

Vauxhall is also sponsor of the Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales national football associations.
