FAB Design Mercedes G-Class "SHAHIN" Is an Arabic Hawk-SUV

FAB design is a tuning company that's well known for its SLS AMG widebody kit. However, they haven't made anything noteworthy in recent years.

At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, they presented a couple of white coupes, namely the 700 horsepower AMG GT and its S63 AMG sister car in white. However, what we believe to be their first G63-based kit was also shown.

It's called the Shahin after an Arabic hawk. Somebody might want to tell them the name is shared with a Turkish version of the Fiat 131 sedan.

The kit has been designed to fit both the 63 twin-turbo model and its 55 ancestors. It comes out fighting from the front, thanks to a custom front bumper that's much wider and more aggressive. Matching bigger flares also help with the look of the G-Monster. Does anybody remember how the early G-Class models had no extra air intakes and little mud guards?

But we digress; the SHAHIN body kit also includes new side skirts, a bulged hood that looks like it came from a supercharged drag race Camaro and a rear diffuser. All the goods are made from carbon fiber prepreg. In usual FAB Design fashion, it's the design that sets this kit apart from others.

However, we can't say that it's the best thing since pizza. Our favorite widebody G63 AMG remains the yellow Gronos made by Mansory. But feel free to name your own favorites in the comments section below.

It would be a waste to play with the G63 and not give it more power. FAB design says it can offer you a 620, 820 Nm truck or a 530 horsepower one if you have the old G55.

The final custom piece used to set off this 4x4 from all others is a set of 23-inch forged monoblock EVOTREK wheels shod with 305/55 tires. Despite being bigger, the alloys are said to be up to 40% lighter than the stock ones.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
