The first official photos of BMW's latest compact model have finally emerged onto the internet. No ifs, ands or buts about it, this is the new BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo model that will most likely be shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The car will actually have a full media release tomorrow, when we'll be able to publish a much more comprehensive report, but for now, we only have these pictures to go on.

The car is named the 3-Series Gran Turismo, but it actually has a few styling elements in common with the upcoming 4-Series, such as that single fender vent that looks like an inverted "7".

The 3-Series GT will become available this summer and will be sold with both rear and xDrive all-wheel drive. The engine range will see the familiar units introduced, starting with the mode powerful models.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with BMW's Gran Turismo or GT models, we'll remind you that the 3er is their second, after the 5-Series GT launched a couple of years ago. The philosophy behind this design is that it mixes in elements from crossover models to offer more practicality.

The 3-Series GT is a notchback car with a big lifting gate allowing access to a huge loading area, which will be increased even further when you fold the seats down. Changes also include a slightly raised ride.

It's the perfect car for the family man with driving passion in his heart!
