BMW dealers and importers have been very busy with the global rollout of the new 3-Series. Now, the F30 3er has also been launched in Australia with a range comprising of two four-cylinder turbo petrols, two four-cylinder turbo diesels and one six-cylinder petrol range-topper. Since the 3-Series could not be priced competitively as a base model, the standard equipment level has been moved upward so they can demand a pretty Australian dollar. Every car but the 318d comes with paddleshift levers behind the steering wheel.
The BMW 3-Series starts with the AU$56,400 318d, while entry to the petrol range comes with 320i costing AU$57,600. The much talked about 328i, with its new TwinPower 2.0-liter has been made more affordable than the old 325i. The bad news if you want the powerful 335i is that it costs a whopping AU$91,900. This model will accelerate from 0-100km/h (62 mph) in 5.5 seconds and is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
The 320d, 328i and 335i variants are available this month, while the 318d and 320i will roll out in March.
