F1 Teams Support Tom Pryce Memorial Trust

Starting next week, F1 fans throughout the world will have the opportunity to bid for F1 passes that will connect then directly to the F1 paddock and enjoy team hospitality from each of the 9 outfits in F1. This will be possible due to the Tom Pryce Memorial Trust, who are trying to raise enough money to complete a permanent memorial for the Welsh driver.

Pryce had competed in Formula 1 through the 1970s, until tragically losing his life during the 1977 South African Grand Prix.

A location for the aforementioned memorial has already been set – the streets of his home town of Ruthin, North Wales – with the organizers now trying to secure the necessary funds for the project. The F1 teams have already committed to the fun-raising auction, that will see them accommodate 2 “intruders” in their motor homes for the duration of one race this year.

As announced by Bernie Ecclestone himself, the passes will be available only for the European rounds of the F1 schedule, as followed:

McLaren Mercedes, Spanish GP (May 8-10); Force India, Monaco GP (May 21-24); Toyota, Turkish GP (June 5-7); Williams, British GP (June 19-21); Renault, German GP (July 10-12); BMW Sauber, Hungarian GP (July 24-26); Toro Rosso, European GP Valencia (August 21-23); Red Bull, Belgian GP (August 28-20) and Ferrari, Italian GP (September 11-13).

The auction will get under way on February the 9th (auctioning passes for the Spanish Grand Prix) and will end on April 10th (passes for the Italian Grand Prix). Here is the complete schedule:
