F1 2018 Video Game Launches August 24, New Trailer Released

There are less than two weeks left before the launch of the latest installment of the F1 video game franchize, and a brand new but rather short official gameplay trailer was released by the game’s creators, Codemasters.

This year’s version of the game promises to be more immersive than ever before, and is this new immersive experience that Codemasters is trying to show in this newest trailer, unfolding to the music written by composer Brian Tyler.

The biggest change for the 2018 is the career mode, called Make Headlines: it is supposed to be the deepest one to date, requiring building a reputation off-track as well as on it.

For the new game, the roster includes all the teams, drivers, and circuits in Formula 1, including the ones added to the racing schedule this year. As a twist as far as cars go, gamers will also get a chance to race behind the wheel of 20 classic racers from the 1970s and the 1980s, more in munbers than in the previous installment of the game.

Formula 1 fans will recognize in the games cars like the Ferrari 1979 312 T4 or the first F1 car to use a carbon fiber monocoque, the McLaren’s MP4/1B.

“F1 has undergone a huge visual rebrand this year. It has an exciting, fresh new look and we are looking to bring that into the game as much as we can,” said in a statement Stu Campbell, Formula 1 art director.

“Our aim this year was to create as big a visual improvement as we possibly could to give a more authentic and realistic experience. When you see it side by side with the 2017 game, I think you will see a huge leap forward.”

F1 2018 releases on August 24, just prior to the Spa-Francorchamps race in Belgium, on PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows PC. It will allow both single and multiplayer modes.
