Ever dream of competing in Formula 1, but have not been spotted by a talent scout yet? Are you too old to race, or you do not come from a family of billionaires? Worry not, Codemasters has the closest virtual thing.
The F1 2016 game, the only one sanctioned by the FIA as the official video game of the Formula One World Championship, is open for purchase. It starts at just under $60 on Amazon, but U.S. customers are not offered the Windows PC version of the game just yet.
Amazon UK sells it, though, so you might attempt to buy it from there if they ship to your address. The other two platforms this game was designed for, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, already have their identical titles ready for purchase.
Codemasters, the legendary racing game developer, has created this title, and they claim it is the most immersive one of the series. Everything that the viewer sees on TV or an online feed has a virtual correspondent in the game, from the safety car to practice sessions and qualifying.
If the player has a lot of time available, up to ten seasons are available in the extended career mode. You do not have to go through physical training, and press conferences, however.
Things can get even more realistic if the gamer decides to go for the manual pit lane entry, or the manual race start, and players can even drive the formation lap, in which drivers maneuver side-to-side on the track to warm up their tires.
Evidently, the most recent additions to the Formula One World Championship have been implemented, like the Haas F1 Team, as well as the Baku circuit in Azerbaijan. The track lineup includes the entire 21-circuit calendar, complete with 22 drivers and 11 teams.
If the single player campaign is not enough for your level of talent, there is also a new Multiplayer Championship Mode, which supports 22 players and their corresponding 11 teams. The competition can last over the course of a season, so get ready for 21 new friends to hang out online.
Users can also buy the F1 2016 Limited Edition, which includes a DLC called “Career Booster” pack that brings a head start in the Championship, as well as dedicated helmet designs. You can view the official trailer below.
