When behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 Turbo dialed all the way up to 1,000 HP, one would be tempted to believe a drag race against a Supra with the factory automatic tranny is a piece of cake. We're here to show you what happens when that cake is tuned and has the potential to leave the Porsche lusting for more chocolate in the engine compartment.
The battle we are talking about is a street race, one that saw the pair of machines using a rolling start and pulling three runs, just to make sure which one is better at the velocity game.

The Porsche belongs to the previous 997 generation, with the turbocharged flat-six at its back having been massaged to 1,000 hp at the wheels.

As for the Supra, this might pack its a340e factory automatic, but the tranny was seriously touched by ATFspeed. In fact, there are multiple episodes when the two cars are almost equal regarding acceleration, but you can clearly see the Porsche falling behind when the driver has to upshift.

The Supra even goes drifting during one of the runs. The rear end lets go, with the driver having to make quite some efforts to prevent the Toyota from crashing.

Still, given the results shown in the other runs, the Porsche has no chance of stealing the victory from the Supra.

We don't have the output numbers for the Supra, but those following the underground racing scene know this by the Baltic Supra nickname. As with most such project cars, the engine compartment receives constant upgrades.

Here is the list of mods applied to the Supra:
  • Built motor by Real Street:
  • carrillo h beam rods
  • CP pistons 9:1
  • titan billet main caps
  • Factory a340e Trans built by ATFspeed.com
  • Titan 272 cams
  • Ferrea valvetrain
  • Borg Warner S475 (7475)
  • Boost Logic 4" Exhaust
  • AEM EMS v2
  • e-85 fuel
  • 2200cc siemen Injectors
  • Twin Walbro 450
  • Titan 3500 converter

By the looks of it, the Supra delivers some 200 hp more than the Porsche and you can see them fighting in the footage below.
