This first-generation Skoda Fabia has been around for a couple of years, but we never noticed it before. It's one of those ridiculous tuning projects that takes the 1.9 TDI engine to levels where you know that the turbo or the cylinder head will eventually brake.
Let's first start with the history lesson. The first-gen Skoda Fabia also had a "hot" vRS version, and we mean that in the loose sense of the word. You see, while the VW Polo GTI used a 1.8-liter, Skoda decided to do something completely original and stuck the best 1.9 TDI engine it had into the body of its smallest car. The result was a 130 hp economy car that could just about keep up with a MINI Cooper S… just about.
Somebody took that car and tuned it to 310 PS, also doubling the turbo to 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) of twisting force. Because the front wheels would be overwhelmed by V6 levels of output, all-wheel has been added to the mix.
We don't want to go too much into detail with the tech bits, but what you need to know is that the whole turbo and exhaust system now stick out of the hood. The engine has suffered numerous mods over the years and only the block has remained stock.
Since its conception a few years ago, this Polish Czech super-Fabia has been entered in many road rallies as well as drag racing events. It will do the quarter mile in only 12.4 seconds which, given the output of the engine, can only mean that it's been stripped down.
