For people unfamiliar with the notion of Barbie Jeep Racing, this may sound like some sort of activity for children. Even when mentioning Extreme Barbie Jeep Racing, things don’t sound all that... extreme. After all, it’s just a Barbie Jeep, right? Wrong. In reality, it’s more like serious offroad racing, only instead of your lifted Wrangler, you get your little daughter’s plastic car.
To put it another way, you can imagine soapbox racing, but replace the neat asphalt with rugged terrain. Of course, this can lead to serious crashes and we’re here to show you the dangers of this motorlesssport.

The footage below comes from the 2014 Extreme Barbie Jeep Downhill Racing Finals at Morris Mountain, Alabama, a location where actual Jeeps engage in offroad racing. Of course, not all Barbie Jeeps are modeled after Chrysler’s offroad company. For instance, this video is focused on a Ford Mustang, whose driver rider falls pretty badly.

The guy snaps his ankle - to be more specific, he ended up with some torn ligaments. While the racers do wear helmets, perhaps some more serious protection equipment wouldn’t hurt anybody. For instance, a pair of high-end motorcycling boots could’ve saved the man’s ankle.

As for the plastic piece of motoring, this ‘Stang may need a new hood, while the steering rack should also be checked.

These are the kinds of races where the winner receives bragging rights and the dream of a triple-digit cash prize. Basically it’s all for the thrills. Want proof? The man who crashes said he’ll return next season for some more downhill action.
