Learning how to brake in emergency situations is indeed a life saver, even though many riders tend to overlook the importance of knowing how to brake hard as safely as possible.
This video is one of the best proofs to demonstrate how big a difference proper braking technique can make when the going gets tough.
Far more than a simple skid and wipeout, this poor rider literally does a front flip, most likely after performing what some call the "death grip".
"Braking for one's life" is indeed a real scenario, but even in such dire conditions, a skilled, well-trained rider must not exercise extreme pressure on the front brake, lest he or she actually amplifies the negative outcome of the situation.
