Former Italian F1 driver, Vitantonio Liuzzi, will be debuting in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), for Lotus. His debut is an important one for the British manufacturer, as it will take place ‘on home ground’, at the Silverstone Circuit - a 6-hour race. It will also mark the end of the European side of the inaugural season, as the WEC will then head off to South America, and then Asia.
Liuzzi said “I am very happy to get the chance to drive at the 6 Hours of Silverstone. I know the track quite well from Formula 1 races in the past. But driving here in the Lotus LMP2 car will be different, for sure. I already got experienced with the car during some test days earlier this season and I can’t wait for my first race in the FIA World Endurance Championship. I want to thank Lotus for this great opportunity and I hope to have a good result in Silverstone.

His teammates will be James Rossiter from the UK and Kevin Weeda from the US, but while he may not be the most famous F1 driver, he is much better-known than the others. We hope his debut in car number 32 will be a successful one for both himself and his team.
