Back in 2012, Toyota fired one of its computer programmers handling databases and all sorts of sensitive data for the automaker. The guy logged in one night after and sabotaged the system stealing and sabotaging various parts plans, designs and software. The lawsuit against the former employee went on until this week.
The ex-employee, Ibrahimshah Shahulhameed, has now been found guilty of intentionally sabotaging and crashing Toyota Manufacturing Kentucky’s supplier computer network.
The five-day trial concluded in Lexington, with the prosecutors saying that Shahulhameed did more than $5,000 in damage to the company, rendering the system inoperable and preventing employees from accessing the system.
Shahulhameed will get the final sentence on the 8th of May.
