Unfortunately for American racing driver Joey Hand, BMW decided to part ways with him at the end of this year’s DTM season, thanking him for the time spent behind the wheel of their cars. So far, Hand was very quiet about his future plans.
Of course, he thanked the team in Germany for their support so far and said he was going to pursue new challenges from now on but nothing concrete was mentioned.

Sources claim that starting with next year he’ll be joining Ford and the Chip Ganassi Racing team in other motorsport venues in 2015. The Americans are looking to expand their reach into new areas and the introduction of the Focus RS on the North American continent next year might have a thing or two to do with it.

No comment was made by the Ganassi Racing team or Joey when contacted for details. Therefore, it might be a little early to believe these rumors as they are but it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Hand moves back to the US.

The 35-year old had been racing in his homeland for quite some time before moving to BMW. Now, it would seem the Chip Ganassi Racing team wants to get him behind the wheel of their Ford EcoBoost Daytona Prototype alongside Felix Sabates and Scott Pruett.
