Okay, so there's a slight chance that you've heard about vehicles likes this Evoque, built to race off-road. However, this is the first time Milner Racing has put an LS3 motor into its LRM-1.
Milner makes all sorts of 4x4s, but also a few regular race cars. The first thing you'll need to know is that the LRM-1 is 100% custom and in no way based on the Range Rover Evoque.

Sure, the body might look like that of a high-street crossover for the mistresses of businessmen. However, many of the panels are custom, and the entire thing is made from composite at 4/5 scale (slightly smaller than the real thing). That said, the Evoque-inspired orange wheels look like they are a little bigger.

At the front, we see massive cutouts in the hood channeling air around the car. The fenders are bulging out, and an orange roof scoop dominates the picture.

Underneath the composite body is a full space frame chassis with double wishbone, fully independent suspension. Like most Dakar race cars, it's made from tubes that are covered up to give you the impression of a normal car.

Yet with a rear-mounted V8 engine, this thing is anything but normal. This particular LRM-1 features a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 from a Corvette producing 535 horsepower. It's got a custom exhaust that's piped like on a Beetle Buggy, as well as a Tremec TK600 five-speed manual transmission, reverse rotation transfer box, heavy duty driveshafts/CVs, and Skyline limited-slip diffs.

Again like a Dakar race car, the LRM-1 features long travel suspension with remote reservoir coilover shocks. For stopping power, it relies on 380mm front discs with six-piston calipers. The interior is about as spartan as it gets and has been configured for RHD. If you fancy a bit of weekend dirt play, know that this particular Evoque can be yours for as little as £125,000. Just make sure it gets driven like it's supposed to.
