Even Hotter Hyundai Veloster Turbo May Be Coming!

Take one look at Hyundai’s Veloster Turbo and you expect it to go like a Megane RS - it doesn’t. Its 1.6-liter engine puts out a respectable 201 hp - respectable in 2005, but not now, when front-wheel drive hot hatches have already surpassed the 300 hp mark.

So, according to motorauthority.com, an even hotter version of the Veloster Turbo may become a reality - at least that’s what they want to believe. We say that it wouldn’t be too much hassle to fit in the 2.0-liter engine that already powers a few of their cars, an engine which produces 274 hp - which is the exact amount needed to take the Veloster as high as it should have gone in the first place.

However, the Veloster Turbo has no real suspension mods, over the lesser-powered alternatives and it would need an upgrade in that area as well. Keeping in mind that in standard form it is not a particularly cheap car, if Hyundai were to give it the bigger engine and better suspension, the price would go up considerably and nobody would buy it. It would finally be the car it should have been all along, though!
