EV Driver Fed Up with Range Anxiety Straps Generator to His Renault Twizy's Roof

We'll remind you the Twizy is classified as a quadricycle, but its limited mana (read: a 62-mile/100 km range) means it can't put a spell on too many buyers.

However, it seems like the driver of the Twizy seen here can now explore Germany's Autobahn network freely, with the juiced-up Renault having been spotted earlier this month on one of the country's highways, close to Bremerhaven.

However, before we give this driver a place in the Hall of Motoring Fame, there are a few things we need to point out.

First of all, there might be one or two safety issues here. It all starts with the passive safety worries of driving with a fuel tank right above your head.

Secondly, the active safety isn't exactly top notch - as we found out in our Twizy review, this is an incredibly nimble and fun RWD machine, with its chassis having been tweaked by Renault Sport. But all that weight at the top throws the French engineers' efforts out the non-existent windows.

Also, the generator sitting atop of the Twizy probably ruins the drag coefficient to the point where the fuel efficiency of this Frankenstein mobile is no longer inspirational.

Oh, and let's not forget that we still haven't been able to determine whether the driver is enjoying alcohol or not. Then again, we couldn't sort out this matter, especially since the whole thing seems like an image stunt pulled to promote the brand seen on the quadricycle, which offers a "quick abstract [card] game you can play everywhere,"
