Europeans seem to present a great interest in the Ford Motor Company's sixth-generation Mustang. Even though the model will go on sale in Europe later this year, 9,300 reservations have been made during the 120-minute Champions League final the former weekend.
Heading off to a strong start on the Old Continent, it looks like the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang is already a hit in this part of the world. A sponsor of Europe's biggest football competition, Ford offered potential customers of the Stang a chance to register online for getting the pony from the first Euro-spec batch.

Just as registrations closed after the Real Madrid – Atletico Madrid match came to a close, we imagine that the marketing man or woman behind this affair yelled "Ka-ching!" with excitement. However, it's no wonder over 9,300 European citizens wanted to get their hands on the pony car – this is the first time Ford offered the Mustang in Europe since the vehicle was introduced back in April 1964.

Roelant de Waard, vice president of marketing, sales & service at Ford of Europe commented on this landmark moment for the Blue Oval: “We knew there was huge excitement building for the new Ford Mustang coming to Europe, but the response during the Champions League final was overwhelming."

Out of the first 500 Mustangs allocated across 20 European countries, 130 will be converted for right-hand drive cause they'll be delivered to customers from the United Kingdom. Both fastback and ragtop variants were made available for order during the match with a choice of two powerplants – the brand spanking new 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo producing 305 hp and 300 lb-ft (406 Nm) or the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 churning out 420 hp and 390 lb-ft (528 Nm) of torque.

The Euro-spec 2015 Ford Mustang features a suite of standard features, with highlights including heated and ventilated power seats wrapped in black leather, park assist, chrome detailing both outside and in, 19-inch alloy wheels and Ford's second generation Sync connectivity system, which also incorporates a sat-nav feature.
