Etropolis brings the Retro Lithium, a lighter version of the base Retro model. The weight saving comes from the new battery the German manufacturer installed: a lithium-polymer power pack replaced the old silicon gel, and helped reduce the overall mass of the scoot by almost 30%.
The base Retro machine tipped the scales at 140 kg (309lbs), whereas the new version weighs in at 107 kg (236lbs). At the same time, the modern battery comes with double the number of complete cycles (now 900) and bigger energy storage. The rear hub motor remained the 2kW, 60V unit, but it now offers an 80 km (50 mi) range, compared to the 50 km (31mi) the older version could do.

Batter Management System is offered as stock, just like the reverse gear, helping riders get out of tight parking spots much more easily. The Etropolis Retro Lithium has 3 operation modes: economy, normal and sport and can climb 20-degree slopes. Both the front and the rear brakes use hydraulic discs.

Now, this scooter looks simply too much like the 50cc Honda Shadow and unless the German manufacturer has an agreement with Honda, we might see some legal actions developing. I mean, it looks really cool (just like the small Shadow), but there’s just too much Honda in it, with almost the same bars, apron turn signals and all… Nevertheless, a very nifty e-scooter!
