Essen 2011: Brabus SLS AMG Roadster World Premiere

Our friend Justin was in Essen last week for the annual German motor show that usually centers around the custom and tuning industry. This year’s edition didn’t disappoint at all, with a couple of brand new Brabus monsters making their debut there.
We’ll start with the tune SLS AMG Roadster, which has become the recipient of a new ports exhaust system that uses quad pipe with a diameter of 84 mm, as well as a new ECU map that allows the naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter AMG V8 engine to produce an impressive 611 horsepower instead of the usual 571 hp.

The car rides on massive Monoblock F “Platinum Edition” forged rims, sized 20-inch for the front and 21 at the back. It also gets a number of cosmetic enhancements in the form of carbon fiber aero package that can be ordered in a high-gloss or in a matte finish.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
