Epic Win: Pranker Fakes Oscar, Gets Free BMW E46 3 Series

Whether you won an Oscar or you just pretend you did seemed to be almost the same thing for improv and theatrical actor Mark David Christenson in the most awaited night of this year, when he proved fame can be stolen and artificially created. Not only did people trust him to be a celebrity walking around with a golden statuette in his hand, but he even got stuff for free. Everything culminated when a valet gave him a BMW E46 3 Series just like that.

The stunt was pulled off in the night the 87th Academy Awards took place and it’s NewMediaReockstars’ idea of a spoof. As you’d imagine, at first the actor was having second thoughts about pretending to be a celebrity and faking an Oscar, but as he’d move forward the experience turned out to be as surprising as it was funny.

Selfies with random people on the street were the main course, as Mark would smile and show everybody his golden statuette. Believe it or not, several passers-by would even recognize him from the famous ceremony as the so-called winner would be handed with the Oscar on scene. Free tickets at the movies, bourbon, condoms, soda and dinner followed as the actor kept on smiling and making people feel good.

Like that wasn’t enough to prove a point, Christenson ends up in these exclusive parties Hollywood’s best would normally get in and even gets a lady’s phone number. The stunning night culminates with Mark stopping at a parking lot where he asks for his car. He tells the valet he lost his ticket, but somehow people recognize him and a couple of minutes later the actor is given the keys of a gorgeous BMW E46 3 Series.

The fellow’s prank proves a lot of things about the way we see celebrities, yet Mark’s excuse for doing it could pass as the kindest one: “Most everybody that is winning an Oscar tonight is completely removed form the people that are watching the event. There are people that now think anything is achievable because it’s in their world”.
