With McLaren having settled nicely into 650S production, it is now time to focus on the company’s next vehicle, the P13. This will be the entry-level point to McLaren’s line-up and we now have a rendering to show you.
Like pretty everybody else in the sportscar business, McLaren targets the Porsche 911, a car they’ve even officially praised. Thus, expect to see a much tamer silhouette than that of the 12C or 650S.

Despite that, the fascias will be just as aggressive as you would expect from the Woking-based automotive producer. For instance, the rendering we have here wears a front fascia similar to that of the 650S, whose face is styled closed to that of the P1 hypercar. Pure McLaren then...

The P13, which is tentatively named 550S in this case, should keep McLaren’s twin-turbo V8, albeit in a lower state of tune. The sportscar is expected to deliver 450 HP. The real question here is whether McLaren will afford to keep the carbon core of the car - the 12C was already the only supercar in the junior league to feature a carbon tub at the time when it was launched, but the singinficantly lower price of the P13 means maintaining this is anything but simple.

Speaking of the pricing, the easiest way to grab a new McLaren should mean you’ll have to spend at least £120,000 (€143,000 / $194,000).

As for when we should expect the production incarnation of McLaren’s P13, the car has been confirmed for a 2015 launch. We are expecting to get our hands on some spy shots soon and we promise to share these with you.
