Enrique Iglesias, Florence and the Machine, Blur to Hold the Stage at Abu Dhabi F1 2015

Formula One may have the greatest technology in terms of automotive performance, aerodynamics and professional driving, but things won’t just be complete without the fame factor. Like it or not, music truly makes people get together and feel good. Guess those 1.6-liter turbo engines just aren't enough when it comes to the aural side.

Entering its seventh year, the 2015 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - yes, that’s a long name - takes place on the November 27 through the 29th. Sold as the Middle East’s biggest event it’s supposed to offer all visitors an unparalleled social and sporting experience. The event is not just for race track fanatics, as you can see it is a social event too. Heck, there’s even a one-step guide app that shows viewers around the arena.

As we said, admiring the jewels of today’s top-notch engineering is far from being enough these days. This is why some big music stars will steal the show at this year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The concert series that will end each day sees world renown artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Florence and the Machine, and Blur performing live. The concerts will take place at the du Arena and will be accessible to race-day tickets holders.

Well, it is what it is, Abu Dhabi is going full gear with whatever means of development that will make them stand next to the big players in the automotive industry. If that means F1 racing, they’ll just create an event from scratch. After all, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is one of the most recent race issues of the kind.

After they announced it back in 2007, two years later the first flag would drop. The Yas Marina Circuit was designed by Hermann Tilke and is located on Yas Island - a 2,550 hectares (25.5 sq km/9.84 sq mi) island on the coast of Abu Dhabi. Last year’s event took place on 23 November and was the concluding race of the 2014 Formula One season. As you may recall, double points were awarded for the race, which was won by Lewis Hamilton.
