Enova to Supply All-Electric Vans to the US

Have you ever thought about a SWAT all-electric van? Those guys don’t really look like tree huggers, but without the sound of an internal combustion engine that vehicle would be really stealth. However, there’s not a long way until we will see an all electric SWAT van, as the government has signed a contract to get some all electric, walk-in step vans.

Enova Systems, a hybrid and electric drive systems producer, just signed a contract with the General Services Administration (GSA), which provides vehicles for government agencies and armed forces. Enova will be an exclusive supplier.

The company will supply GSA with Enova Ze all-electric walk-in step vans. This is a part of the Agency’s target to increase energy efficiency and reduce fuel consumption with 30% by 2020.

“Enova is honored to have been selected by GSA as the agency’s exclusive supplier of all-electric step vans,”
says Enova President and CEO Michael Staran. “We are pleased that our technology has been recognized by the federal government and we are fully prepared to support GSA’s efforts to meet their targets as mandated by President Obama.”

“The Enova Ze is a perfect fit for U.S. government agency fleets that are looking to meet emissions targets. We continue to pave the way towards zero emissions commercial transportation and solidifying our position as a technology leader in this nascent government market,”
says John Mullins, Enova’s Chief Operating Officer. “We encourage all government procurement officers to consider the road to reduced emissions with the Enova Ze.”
