Energica is already spearheading the electric mobility with almost ridiculously quick charging, but things are far from being over. The Italian electric superbike manufacturer has finally introduced their second production machine, the naked Eva (pun intended), and announced a partnership that's quite promising, to say the least.
Energica's newest partners are Efacec Electric Mobility, fast charging specialists that are also at the front of the pack that drives the change towards the expansion of electric transport. Efacec is the leading manufacturer of fast chargers for electric vehicles, making Energica's choice a rather natural move.
In case you didn't know, Eva is the only electric streetfighter equipped with a fast charge system on board. Coupling this with Energica's amazing 20-minute 0-80% fast charging capabilities, we get the idea of what the future has in store for us.
Electric mobility is still in its infancy, and there is still a lot to be discovered, but seeing electric vehicle manufacturers and charger producers teaming up for the greater (electric) good gives us even higher hopes.
Onboard charging versus more charging stations
There is a strong debate as to which direction should the industry be heading for, onboard fast chargers or creating a dense charging station network. We have, in fact, talked to Energica officials (the exclusive interview to be published soon), and they are bent on the latter.
Still, the Eva is equipped with an onboard fast charger that takes the fuss out of the "refueling" stops, almost wherever a rider may decide to stop.
With 170 Nm (125.3 lb-ft) of torque on tap from idle and around 95 instantaneous horsepower, the Energica Eva can do up to 200 km (124 miles) in Eco Mode and reach a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph) in Sport Mode. The bike also comes with integrated regenerative torque braking, fully adjustable by the rider, and offers a personalized feel in the saddle.
