Energica Ego Electric Bike Fights Two Teslas and One Ferrari In 1/4-Mile Battle

Take notice, what you're about to watch got us thinking about a lot of things. Like, what happens when electric meets electric, in a battle between four-wheel and two-wheel green machines?

This could be the world's quietest drag race duel, but electric powertrains compensate with instant torque and blistering acceleration whenever they're asked to.

In case you're not familiar with Energica's work, here's your crash course: they created the Ego motorcycle, the world's first all-electric superbike. Since Tesla Model S is an old friend of ours, let's take some time and get to know Energica Ego better.

The green heart of the electric sportbike is a synchronous oil-cooled motor with permanent magnets. It has 100 kW (136 HP) of instant power reaching from 4,900 rpm to 10,500 rpm and a torque of 195 Nm (144 lb-ft) ranging from 0 rpm to 4,700 rpm.

All the above account for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint secured in 3 seconds, which puts Energica Ego close to its four-wheeled counterpart: the Tesla Model S P85D. As you know, Elon Musk's offspring shoots from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.1 seconds, which should call for a close encounter. In theory.

Before you head to the video, just pause for a second, because we've got something else in store for you. The electric superbike has other fights to attend, besides the one against the Model S in quarter-mile runs. On the same runway, Energica Ego meets a Tesla Roadster, a BMW 1000RR HP4 and a Ferrari 458 Italia. Talking about "me against the world", huh? Now, we're sure you are eager to see the silent but intense show, so that's as far as we'll go with telling you stuff.

You can find the video below, but we won't say a thing about the outcome.
