It doesn't matter if you are a billionaire oil tycoon or Kanye West; the Cannes police don't want you to park in the wrong sports and will tow any car away without hesitation. It happened at the end of last week to this Ferrari 458 Spider on Arab plates. Mind you, things didn't go as smoothly as with a Fiat Panda.
The Italian supercar is clearly parked where it shouldn't be. Maybe the owner has no regard for the law or didn't know that the Cannes enforces become vicious. Still, we can't say we don't feel bad for the guy.

Towing the Ferrari is kind of tricky. The truck places a special platform under the rear wheels and drags the 458 backwards. It looks dangerous, especially without the car being tied down. There's also another problem: an aftermarket front splitter that almost touches the ground when the nose is lowered.

Still, a policewoman is watching to see if the procedure is done by the book, and it looks like everybody is as careful as they can so as not to damage the vehicle.

This is not an ordinary 458, as the Maranello machine is equipped with an aftermarket kit from Hamann. This includes the front spoiler, side skirt, four large alloys and that trunk spoiler.

While supercar manufacturers offer their models with a selection of different options from the factory, many owners decide to go aftermarket when it comes to choosing bold and eye-catching features. This 458 is made attractive by its vinyl wrap or paintjob, but we have seen even more extreme kits from Hamann. A limited-edition model has even been equipped with the same sort pointy nose as the Enzo.

After many generations of eking out a living in barren desert conditions, the people of the Middle East deserve to splurge on Ferraris and trips to the coolest destinations in Europe. However, they should be a little more careful about where they park their supercars.
