The Jaguar E-Type is one of the coolest cars in the world, so when one unit of the icon is preparing to be auctioned, you can expect plenty of cash to be spent on it. If that particular car happened to have belonged to Sir Elton John, the sale is sure to fetch an impressive amount of money.
This is exactly what happened in the UK recently, where a 1965 Jaguar XKE 4.2-liter Series I Roadster that was previously owned by the star was sold an a Bonhams auction, fetching a cool $130,027 (EUR98,560 or GBP82,140 at the current exchange rates).
Elton John had acquired the car back in 1987 and kept it until 2001, when it was auctioned together with multiple cars in his garage. The vehicle, which comes with the “OK Elton” nickname, thanks to its license plate (OKE-1), had been fully restored in 1979 and is in mint condition.
