2022 Toyota Land Cruiser J300 and Lexus LX 600, as well as the all-new Tundra. One could say that things are looking full-size great for the Japanese automaker. So, why not make them even bigger?
Never mind that Toyota has decided to sadden its U.S. fans and retire the Land Cruiser from the market. It’s a massive global success story without even having to compete with its Tundra pickup truck and LX 600 ultra-luxury SUV platform siblings.
According to the rumor mill, the waiting list for a J300 is huge, and it’s only going to get bigger as time goes on. After all, Toyota will make sure the hype remains at an all-time high with help from the most logical solution – adding new Land Cruiser versions into the mix.
Of course, the automotive world’s virtual artists are way ahead of any upcoming OEM solutions. As such, we have seen just about every transformation that’s both possible and impossible. But as far as subtle, sensible solutions are concerned, by far one of the best comes courtesy of the good folks over at Kolesa.
They didn’t shrink the Land Cruiser to implausible proportions and instead went the polar opposite. So, here’s their imagined 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser looking stately with a digital long base that should do wonders for anyone thinking the J300 comes with “cramped rear legroom.” After all, perhaps some might feel the need for a truly relaxed seating position!
From the outside – which is the only POV shown in these quick renderings – there are very few giveaways that we are dealing with something that would proudly take on the Caddy Escalade ESV if ever allowed to hit the American market. Still, a keen observer should have no problem noticing the rear doors are now a tad longer, while the C pillar gets a completely new design to bode well for the massive rear overhang.
Additionally, this Land Cruiser LWB also has a taillights-connecting LED strip that mirrors the design of the freshly introduced 2022 Lexus LX 600. So, that way, its premium aspirations would be even more visible.
